Pre-diabetes
According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2015 an estimated 86 million Americans were pre-diabetic. It is estimated that by 2035, 471 million people will be pre-diabetic.
Pre-diabetes can be diagnosed with lab tests that check a person’s blood sugar level. One test in particular—Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)—will show what your average blood sugar level has been over the last 3 months. If your HbA1c is above 6.4%, you can be diagnosed with diabetes. If your HbA1c is between 5.7% and 6.4%, you can be diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
Prevention is the best cure, so don’t roll the dice and wait until it’s too late! At Heilen Natural Medicine, we offer lab tests to screen for pre-diabetes. No insurance? No problem. Our pre-diabetes screening panel is less than $70 for cash-paying patients.
