Food Allergy Testing in Casa Grande, AZ
What is Food Sensitivity?
Food sensitivity can be divided into two major groups: immediate reactions and delayed reactions. These two groups are led by different immune system responses.
Symptom onset for an immediate reaction is rapid - usually within 8 hours of eating the offending food. Symptoms can include tingling of arms and legs, rash, wheezing, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, and anaphalaxia (difficulty or inability to breath). This immediate reaction is due to an IgE (Immunoglobulin E) response.
Symptom onset for a delayed reaction is much slower. Symptoms may not appear for up to three days. The food you ate on Monday could be responsible for the migraine that showed up on Wednesday! The delayed reaction is due to an IgG (Immunoglobulin G) response. Because of this delay, some people are unaware of the foods to which they are sensitive. To further compound the problem, traditional allergy panels only evaluate an IgE response, never testing for an IgG response. This gives a patient incomplete information and can ignore a true food sensitivity.
You are what you eat, digest, and absorb. Unfortunately, even "healthy" foods can trigger your body's immune system response. Do you suffer from constipation, acid reflux, headaches or migraines, fatigue, or skin problems? Food allergy or sensitivity may be at the root of the problem.
Common symptoms associated with food sensitivity include:
- Abdominal pain
- Headaches & Migraines
- Joint pain and stiffness
- Chronic ear infections
- Acid reflux (GERD)
- Skin rashes
- And many more...

food allergy testing & children
Many common childhood symptoms can be linked to food allergies, including constipation, rashes, behavioral problems, bedwetting, chronic ear infections, colic, and more. An IgG Food Allergy panel can be an excellent way to identify hidden food allergies in your child. Nervous about a needle stick and having blood drawn from your child? Don't be nervous! We offer a finger-stick option for children that does not require taking a large sample of blood. This option is much less invasive and perfect for children.
