What is acupuncture?
For thousands of years, various cultures have used acupuncture to improve health and treat disease. Acupuncture is the placement of small needles at various points along pathways on the body called "meridians", or "channels." Each meridian correlates with an organ in the body. By inserting needles along these meridians, the flow of energy, blood, and oxygen can be improved and health can be restored. Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide variety of ailments, including migraines, digestive problems, pain, anxiety, insomnia, and much more.
Traditionally in China, acupuncture is practiced in an open, community-style setting. We use comfortable recliners and a calm, soothing atmosphere. There is no need to undress or wear a gown when treated in our community room. This can be a great way to experience acupuncture with a friend or family member!
For those who prefer a private room, we offer acupuncture treatments this way as well. Depending on what is being treated, certain treatments and situations would require a private room. The lights are dimmed, music is playing and patients often drift off or fall asleep on the table while being treated.
